It`s Out SUN goes to ORACLE.

Well after so much of drama last few months and at time of recession SUN is finally sold/acquired by ORACLE.The earlier all-set deal with IBM didn`t worked for them and in such a quick time they are with ORACLE.

Well what will be the outcome of this DEAL to FOSS community.
Well i am not that kindaa Evangelist but what I assume is M$ should be ready to get a tough competitor in all senses and i won`t doubt that there will be market share even on desktop market by Oracle in coming time.

As Mohit says BSD is future i can`t comment on that but i see the same way and for the enterprise Linux vendors better start selling it at cheaper price and providing better customer service else the market will dry down and move out of there hand.

Oracle won`t mind Server migration from Linux to BSD even for free after all they have the Database and the clients would love to have everything by a single vendor and undoubtedly at cheaper price.I still don`t know about there customer satisfaction reputation.

Also there will be a BULK CERTIFICATION offer now Sticking out tongue Oracle,Java,Mysql,Sun Solaris(now oracle solaris) Evil in all the centers.

Undoubtedly the future of Enterprise Linux really looks troublesome.

In the END what will happen to my RHCE cert and RHCSS am planning to write (BLEHH)

Cool Sticking out tongue Eye-wink Smiling

Gnyt folks i am upset with the Deal i must admit.

Solaris

Oracle also would take charge of the Solaris operating system, which already has been a platform for many of Oracle's products.
