Well finally after some time a Tech blog.

UShahidi is a cool Web tool that has been deployed/used all across Africa to report crime related activities.you can find more on www.ushahidi.com

So what i did is tried installing it on my ubuntu box.

Some pre-requirements :--

1.apache with mod_rewrite enabled

2.mysql

3.PHP version >= 5.2.3 (with below mentioned extenstions)

1.Your identity as a brand in mkt.

Well in the era of internet when people are buying everything through .com(internet), it is really important to identify yourself in the deep sea of uncountable web pages.If i click to bbc.com i know i need a news on  my desktop or for the same reaason if i click youtube.com i know i need to see/watch/view some famous videos.It takes time to build a brand and it takes more to retain in  market when you get a rival.So your identity  is needed on web front  as well.

2.Who is the audience of your site.

Okey i been planning to do this long back.on rhel5 box here is a simple guide i have made which lets you compile nagio3 from source and install in RHEL5 box. Make sure you have these packages installed:--

1.Apache

2. GCC compiler

3.GD development libraries

You can use "yum" to install these packages by running the following commands (as root):

yum install httpd gcc glibc glibc-common gd gd-devel

Create a new nagios user account and give it a password.

/usr/sbin/useradd -m nagios

passwd nagios

well it took some time to make pidgin run on my RHEL5 box.
/me uses RHEL5 these days as his primary box.

Error: Missing Dependency: libgtkspell.so.0()(64bit) is needed by package pidgin
Error: Missing Dependency: cyrus-sasl-md5 is needed by package libpurple
Error: Missing Dependency: libsilcclient-1.0.so.1()(64bit) is needed by package libpurple
Error: Missing Dependency: libnssutil3.so()(64bit) is needed by package libpurple
Error: Missing Dependency: libsilc-1.0.so.2()(64bit) is needed by package libpurple

well it`s been all around the news the mighty I-Phone finally launched.
well am sure tech funks must have been waiting for it.

i just visited the website and got some specification of the phone with $199 initial price.
well price is affordable but after I-Pod DRM trick i just in no mood of thinking about it.

Let Open-Moko & Android come in market everything will change.

i just can`t understand why soo much of hype encircles whenever Apple or Microsuck launches it`s product even when there product sucks.
